The staff went out of their way to offer assistance. One of Boracay's best kept secrets."Wonderful place to stay" Sep 30, 2005 My fiance and I stayed at Dave's Straw Hat Inn at Boracay for 4 nights recently, loved the staff, clean rooms (very clean), great air-con, wonderful food available, not the most comfortable beds though, Dave even gives free counseling advise (if he likes you). There is a safe for you to use inside the closet as well. There were little soaps and fresh clean towels as well. They really do make you feel like family there, especially if you are traveling by yourself. The staff was wonderful especially Larry and Janet! As I recall Larry waited over an hour in the heat to pick me up so I wouldn't get lost. With the warm hospitality of the staff and great service and accommodation ,not to mention their cheap room rates, there is nothing more you can ask for!The atmosphere is serene, just a perfect place to relax after the long day at the beach. Maintaining staffs are trustworthy, you can leave any of your valuable things inside the room worry-free!
I think I speak for all the divers in our group that made the trek from Guam to Boracay when I say that no other place on the island could have taken better and more personal care of us than the folks at Dave's did. "Ate" is the Tagalog word for sister, which is what Janet insists the staff call her, as opposed to "Boss" or "Mom." She really treats her staff like family, which helps us guests to feel like part of the family as well.
Janet- you were so helpful with everything and concerned with my safety.
