Fired event itemupdating which

16-May-2020 08:14

Sample code that fails to invoke itemupdating event: SPList Item op Folder = list. An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Http Exception: The Grid View 'gv Podcasts' fired event Page Index Changing which wasn't handled.I set up a quick test which I think is similar to yours. One complication I see is some of the built in functionality of the Details View. So, if you add a button to a Details View with Command Name="Update", then the update will be initiated when the command is clicked. The Item Command event occurs for any command, and it occurs before the other automatic functions. I noticed in my debugging also and it called it twice and the second time it failed. I have to manage multiple post backs and this has been a nightmare..Thanks for the advice.

Simple Form View with manual databinding for test purposes.

The difference between my Grid View and the one from the example is mine got its columns manually created in the codebehind. I just can't image a vb developer not being able to look at least be able to read c#.

I also use a customized Data Table for binding with the Grid View. I do not have any VB code, but at least I figured it out a while ago: I was not properly understanding the ASP.

I've created the event in the Grid View definition and now the application does not crash. After developing in VB for years I picked up c# in no time.

I've put a breakpoint in Page Index Changing and in Page Index Changed, only the breakpoint in Page Index Changed got a hit. As a matter of fact, I fell in love with it and have not written so much as one line of vb code since.I was just curious as to what was happening with the event not firing. Still don't know why the Form View updated event is not firing in your setting. But a little progress has been made to leave the edit mode after updating with this hack: Hi Ed, I was chating with Limno about a similar issue you were having with the manual formview updating. I'm facing a similar issue, and I think we exchanged some email in this respect. because after Page_Load it does'nt fire any event and my form view get disappeared.
