D link dynamic dns not updating
The last step is to make sure that your hostname always matches your IP address as it changes.
Your router has an update client that monitors your IP address and will update the hostname should the IP address change.
Some PCs on the other hand appear to register their own 'A' records directly with the DNS server.
This results in an 'A' record owned by either 'system' or the PC's AD computer account.
I'd really appreciate some advice if anyone has come across this before.
I believe what you are wanting to do is simply tell all your DHCP clients to not register their own DNS records in AD.
I don't know why they changed it, but I sure hope they fix it soon.[text was edited by author 2003-02-12 ]As a post mentioned before, they are using some weird URL to attempt to update the IP address.
Hello guys I have Dlink router 815 and I configured the DDNS sittings with "dyndns" service I forward the DVR port and everything working perfectly , Recently I bought new DIR 890L , I did the same sittings : Dydns , port forward , virtual server , the dvr will work remotely for only 2-3 days then the external IP change the router does not update the new ip .router FW: FW1.07.This document will tell you how to setup a dynamic DNS host name under the D-Link DDNS service with your D-Link router. After entering your user information, you will be sent an e-mail to verify your e-mail address and confirm your account. This account, with the username and password you enter, is also good at Click the add host link, fill in a host, and then click add to create the hostname.
